Gospel Echoing Missionary Society (GEMS) needs judicial supportsThe leaders of Gospel Echoing Missionary Society (GEMS) with the support of other organizations, local Christian leaders and the persecuted missionaries filed petition to the Superintendent of Police of Satna and to other Government officials on October 07, 2015 regarding arrest of missionaries, persecution against the Christians. The atrocities happened at Satna in Madhya Pradesh, India.

Missionaries - Stephen Raj Kumar, Harilal and Anil

Three GEMS missionaries - Stephen Raj Kumar, Harilal and Anil were arrested from village Motwa near Satna for allegedly converting the local people to Christianity based on a complaint from right-wing activists by the police on Saturday, October 03.
This happened when the missionaries went to show gospel and social film in village Motawa were they invited by the local villagers who are believers. Later, the arrested missionaries were released on bail in the evening of October 04. While in police custody they were severely beaten up by the policemen.
In this regard, the three missionaries also filed a petition to the Superintendent of Police, Satna requesting action against the perpetrators and policemen who put false allegations and abused them. The Superintendent of Police, Satna - Mr. Sanjay Kumar took cognizance of the matter and promised to take action on this matter personally. Balakrishnan and Jagdish Sahu of EFI helped in these legal processes. Local Christian leaders of Satna also came along and showed their support. Petition was also sent to the higher police officials and Minority Commission.
